Your primary day-to-day activities will include running the organization's access center and our community recovery center located at the Foundation's headquarters.

Established in 2005, Foundation for Recovery has been serving Nevada as the statewide Recovery Community Organization (RCO). Recovery community organizations are independent, non-profit organization led and governed by representatives of local communities of recovery with the aim to organize recovery-focused policy advocacy activities, carry out recovery-focused community education and outreach programs, and provide non-clinical, peer-based recovery support services. RCOs help bridge the gap between professional treatment and maintaining healthy and successful lives in long-term recovery.

Our community recovery center offers people living with mental illness and substance use disorder opportunities for companionship, employment, housing, education, and assistance navigating medical, legal, and transportation systems in Nevada. Our center provides services in a caring and safe environment staffed and organized by other people recovering from behavioral health disorders – this peer-based model for social and economic inclusion provides pre-treatment and post-treatment programs to extend the sustainability of one’s recovery.

About Foundation for Recovery
Established in 2005, Foundation for Recovery has built programs and partnerships to remove barriers for Nevada families and communities impacted by substance use and mental health disorders. Our success is attributed to a simple concept; expand community support services, empower local leaders, build capacity for authentic addiction recovery resources, and treat people who use substances with dignity and respect.

As Nevada's first and only statewide Recovery Community Organization, our philosophy is that those closest to the issue are closest to the solution. Which is why the majority of our staff, board, and volunteers who drive our mission are people with their own life experiences recovering from addiction and co-occurring disorders. Together, we uplift the voices of our communities and choose to focus on our strengths and talents, rather than our illnesses. This strength-based approach guides our vision for a world where resources, treatment, and support for addiction and mental health are abundant.
